Coffee Fellowship Needs Your Help

Coffee Fellowship has once again become a special part of Sundays at church! We would like to thank everyone who has already volunteered to host this fall and winter. Mike and Liz Fischer, Coffee Fellowship Directors, are continuing to look for volunteers to host 1 or more Sunday Coffee Fellowships after the 10 am service in the Parlor. It is a great way to interact socially with your church family, meet new members, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. If you are interested, there is a
sign-up sheet on the serving table in the Parlor.

Here's all you would need to do:
  • Make a couple of pots of coffee. The directions are on the coffee cart next to the coffee maker.
  • Bring cookies, donut holes, bars or other treats to donate for about 30 - 40 people, as well as some gluten-free treats (or find these in the freezer).
  • Food can be homemade or from a store.
  • Serve the treats. There are paper serving boats, paper plates and napkins on the coffee tray, along with the gluten-free sign to display by those treats.
  • Put any dirty dishes and cups on the cart to the left of the coffee maker. No need to wash them, as they will be taken care of on Monday. Thanks, Andy!
  • There is a donation basket on the serving table. Please put any money donated in an envelope and put it in the mail slot on the church office door.
Please consider signing up to host (by yourself or with someone else). It is a great way to fellowship with your church family and provide an important service to others. Feel free to call us at 715/571-0489 with any questions.

Community Dinner

The community dinner is a meaningful ministry where we are able to offer meals to anyone in the community. Our next opportunity to host is Sunday, June 30th.

We are offering boxed meals and handing them out in the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church. If you want to get involved, we will be needing baked goods to add to the meal. Please contact Jen Johnson at 715-470-2527 and she will arrange a time to pick up any baked goods. Please also keep our dinner guests in your prayers.
Thank you!

First Wausau MC Tumblers

These stainless-steel tumblers hold 12 ounces, keep drinks hot or cold, and make great gifts and help us get the word out about our church! You can buy them for $7 each (at cost, no profit) in the office Monday-Thursday. And they are available in the Parlor on Sunday mornings.

In Sympathy...

Please pray for Nancy Splitt's family as they grieve her passing on 04-16-24.

Weekly Healing Meditation

‘I often say that grief is, most of all, a spiritual journey. It is our souls wrestling with the temporary and transitory nature of human life here on earth.  Our souls are the immortal lights inside of us. The remainder of the facts of our existence are simply the container for our souls. Our bodies and our careers and our belongings are simply the glass that contains the lamp that is our soul.  The thing is our love for the person who died lives in our soul. The death seems to threaten to extinguish the light of our souls, our grief deeply and profoundly painful.  But what happens when we consider that our souls may be immortal, including the soul of the person who died , and that love does not end?  How do things change when we weigh the possibility that our human existence here on earth is only the temporary container for our souls?  What happens is we become boundless, timeless beings for whom loss is but a blink of an eye.’ Allen Wolfelt PhD

My soul is the light inside me, and my soul knows the truth, I will listen to it.
